Program Purpose
Workers who have sustained catastrophic injuries present unique challenges for the case manager. This conference will provide information regarding management of persons with catastrophic injury that will assist the case manager with making sound clinical decisions regarding arrangement of cost-effective care.

Program Objectives
  1. Review the concept of neuroplasticity and identify techniques that promote plasticity throughout a person with brain injury’s lifespan, including return to work.

  2. Identify vision deficits related to persons with brain injury, and discuss evidence-based research supporting neuro vision therapy.

  3. Describe technology often used by persons with catastrophic injuries, and factors to consider when determining the return on investment for these devices.

  4. Define the term interdisciplinary and discuss how this concept applies to rehabilitation of workers with catastrophic brain injury.

  5. Describe the prevalence, conditions and mechanisms associated with neuropathic pain, and pharmacological and non-pharmacological options for treatment.

*This educational offering is appropriate for 5.5 contact hours. Must attend entire event to receive certification of attendance.
